I never thought the day would come when I'd be telling people about this, I can't help but feel it's just too soon, and I just can't shake the strange feeling I've had since I found out. I can't help but feel lost, but I can always remember the great things my father has done and the phenomenal care he received in his care home.
Sadly, my father passed away yesterday at 3PM GMT. He was suffering from dementia and cerebral atrophy.
I would like to take this opportunity to say thank-you to everyone who supported my fundraiser for his care-home, and everyone who has offered support, their best wishes, and advice to me through everything.
I'm making this topic because I'd like to take a list of messages from my friends and people online to his funeral - I feel it would be one final gesture we can all make to my father. He truly was a great man, and I don't want it forgotten how many people he helped during his lifetime.
During my father's life he excelled at school and went on to graduate from Warwick university with a degree in economic history. He went on to support deaf children at the Royal Deaf Children's School in South-East England. He then moved into a career of social work in North England, and thus met my mother, where he helped countless people be rehabilitated and overcome their drug and alcohol related problems. Sadly, over the past few years he became progressively more ill following depression and a stroke.
If you'd like to send a message to my father, it could be anything, you can post on this topic and I'll arrange it to be on a style of collage for his funeral. It would really mean a lot to me and my family.
RIP Dad - Paul Ulldemolins. Loved father, brother, and son.
